The 1880 Census for Grant Co., Indiana (Washington Twp) shows Dillon's father was born in North Carolina and his mother was born in Pennsylvania. (Dillon and family are enumerated as Family #202 on page 22, Washington Twp)

The 1900 Census for Grant Co., Indiana (Washington Twp) shows Dillon's father was born in North Carolina and his mother was born in Pennsylvania. (Dillon and family are enumerated as Family #65 on page 6, Washington Twp). It also shows in the 1900 census that Elizabeth is the mother of two children with two living. This however must be an error by the census taker or confusion on the part of the family member giving the information. Her other children are listed in previous census years and Harvey Cox's obituary lists six of the siblings as survivors. I also have a picture of the entire family including Dillon, Elizabeth, and eight children.

The 1900 Census listing for Harvey Cox, Dillon's son, shows that his father was born in Ohio, however it shows in more than one census that Dillon's place of birth is Indiana.

The 1920 Grant Co., Indiana Census (Washington Twp, Dist. 84) shows Dillon M. (age 77) and Elizabeth (age 70) enumerated alone.
