William's family is enumerated in the 1830 Wayne Co., Indiana Census (Center Twp., page 152) as follows:
~ 1 white male age 20-30
~ 3 white females under age 5

NOTE: I have recorded that William married first Elizabeth Russell in 1825 then her sister in 1831. Given the fact that William Cox is a very common name, even in 1830 Wayne Co., Indiana, there was originally some doubt as to whether this assumption of William's marriages to the two Russell sisters was correct. However, after viewing this 1830 Census I feel fairly confident this is correct. William is enumerated right after Samuel Russell (father of Elizabeth and Eveline) in this 1830 Census. It seems evident from this census that Elizabeth is no longer living (perhaps dying during childbirth?). The enumeration of Samuel Russell's family leads me to believe Eveline is still living with her parents. It seems very possible (in my opinion) that William could become close to Elizabeth following the death of her sister, especially with their close proximity to each other, and the fact that William would need help taking care of three children all under the age of 5 at this time.

Also enumerated on this census page not far from William is Mary Cox (likely his mother).
