Obituary in Connersville News-Examiner on October 12, 1961 (page 4, column 1):

"Mrs. Leota M. Smith, 73, widow of Clayton Smith, whose home was at Falmouth, died at 12:55 Wednesday in Fayette Memorial Hospital. She had been there for 10 days.
Mrs. Smith was born near Orange, in Fayette County, November 19, 1887. Her parents were Robert Dawson and Catherine Hollingsworth Dawson. She and Mr. Smith were married September 3, 1908. He died February 20, 1950.
Before going to Falmouth to live with her daughter she had resided in Connersville.
She was a member of Orange Methodist Church.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Helen Craig, of Falmouth; five sons, Harold, Edward, Floyd and Charles W. Smith of Connersville, and V. Gene Smith of Richmond; a sister, Mrs. Fred Coon, of south of Orange; two brothers, George and John Dawson of Orange; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday by Rev. W. Merlin Schwein in Myers Funeral Home where friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery."
