Dawson, *Noah

NOTE: I have NO QUALITY PROOF as of yet that Noah, William P., Samuel, Elizabeth, and Sarah Dawson are all siblings. Coincidences abound that seem to link them together ... their first appearances in the Fayette Co., Indiana area, their close proximity in several census records, their dates and states of birth given in census records, etc.

Noah is listed in the 1830 Kent Co., Delaware Census (Murderkill Hundred) as follows:
~ One white male under age 5 (William)
~ One white male age 15-20 (brother of Noah or Jane?)
~ One white male age 20-30 (Noah)
~ One white female age 15-20 (Jane)
~ One white female age 50-60 (Noah's mother or mother-in-law?)
It appears in the way that Noah is enumerated that he is not a landowner, but perhaps living on land owned by Jacob Finley. Jacob is listed and then following him is three other "heads of household" space indented under Jacob. They are, in order, Joseph Jay, John Finley, and then Noah Dawson. Looking through all the cenus pages of Murderkill Hundred, Noah was the only Dawson I found.

Noah's family is enumerated in the 1840 Fayette Co., Indiana Census (Orange Twp., pg 86 or Ancestry.com page 9-10) as follows:
~ 1 white male age 0-5 (Mathias)
~ 1 white male age 5-10 (Charles)
~ 2 white males age 10-15 (William and ?)
~ 1 white male age 15-20 (brother or brother-in-law?)
~ 1 white male age 30-40 (Noah)
~ 1 white female age 0-5 (Susan)
~ 1 white female age 5-10 (Ann E.)
~ 1 white female age 20-30 (Jane)
NOTE: Not sure who these other males are enumerated in this census with the family. One possibility to consider is that the ages given in the 1850 Census are not entirely correct.

Noah is lIsted in 1860, 1880 Census in Rush County, Indiana - Noble Township. The only other Dawson families listed in the Noble Twsp, Rush Co., 1880 census are Noah's sons Robert & Noah E. and his brother Samuel.
