MR. DAWSON DEAD
Succumbs Last Evening After Illness of Many Months
Was Well Known and Long Time Resident of Orange Neighborhood - Funeral Tomorrow

Robert Dawson, a well know and much respected farmer near Orange, answered the summons of death at his home about eight o'clock last evening. He had suffered from a goiter for more than a year. During the last few months his disease took a rapid turn for the worse, and his condition was such that medical skill could accomplish nothing toward a cure.
Mr. Dawson was born in the neighborhood of Orange and has lived there practically all his life.
When about twenty-five years of age he was married to Miss Kate Hollingsworth, also of that neighborhood. Seven children - five sons and two daughters - were born to the union and all survive. The sons are Jacob, John, Henry, Murray, and George Dawson, and the daughters are Miss Mary Dawson and Mrs. Clayton Smith. All live near Orange. The wife of the deceased preceeded him to the grave about four years ago, since which time he has made his home with his married daughter. He was well known for honesty and industry and his death is a matter of sadness throughout the community.
The funeral will take place at the M.E. church at Orange, to-morrow afternoon, at two o'clock.

Note: The names of the children in this obituary have not been verified. According to the 1900 Rush Co., Indiana Census (Noble Twp). the children of Robert and Catharine were listed as: Ora S. (age 20), Richard (age 18), Harry (age 16), John E. or C. (age 14), Lota M. (age 12), George R. (age 9) and Mary J. (age 7). Ora died in 1903 so this might explain why he is not listed in Robert's obituary.
