I made an error earlier. Pennsylvania Genelogies relates the story of courtship of Thomas Rutherford and Jean Mordah and it is his memorandum book that list the births of his children and the births of him and his wife. Their daughter Jean, b. 1734, married Thomas Mays, son of Thomas and Margaret Huston Mays.

I have felt that Thomas Mayes, who died 1764 and married Margaret Huston, was the son of James who died intestate in 1733. No proof yet. I do not have the estate records but we probably should get them. Do you have any of the wills or intestate records from Lancaster Co. Penn?

I've been researching for more than 30 years and have published two family histories. I won't undertake any more projects of that magnitude but now just enjoy a little research. Helen
