David's family is enumerated in the 1820 Fayette Co., Indiana Census (Jennings Twp, page 46) as follows:
~ 1 white male age 0-10
~ 1 white male age 26-45
~ 1 white female age 0-10
~ 1 white female age 16-26
(Note: Enumerated right before David is Jona. Mays and Samuel Mays. I believe the Jona Mays family is actually David's mother Jean and sister Elizabeth as just two women are enumerated as living at that dwelling. There are two Samuel Mays enumerated in this township and I'm not sure which of them is David's brother, but I believe it is the Samuel living right by him.

~ 1 white male age 10-15
~ 1 white male age 30-40
~ 2 white female under age 5
~ 1 white female age 5-10
~ 1 white female age 20-30
(Note: Enumerated right after David is his brother Samuel Mays.

David's family is enumerated in the 1850 Harmony Twp., Union Co., Ind. Census (page 356) as follows:
~ David Mace - age 57; farmer; $3000 real estate value; born in KY
~ Sarah Mace - age 48; born in KY (cannot read or write)
~ Polina Mace - age 20; born in IN
~ John W. Mace - age 17; farmer; born in IN
~ Rachael Mace - age 16; born in IN
~ Mary Mace - age 14; born in IN
~ Lovida Mace - age 12; born in IN
~ Sarah Mace - age 8; born in IN

The family is enumerated just two households away from who I believe is Sarah's brother Adam Pigman. This census was enumerated on Oct. 7, 1850 which would make it nearly two months after David's recorded death. Either the date I have recorded for his death is wrong or Sarah gave the census taker information as if he were still head of the household. ... more research is needed here!
