CLATE SMITH, 62, DIES AT FALMOUTH; RITES TO BE AT RUSHVILLE
Clate Smith, 62, died at 9:15 p.m. Monday at his home in Falmouth. He had been ill two months.
Born in Fayette County, a son of Oscar and Hulda Smith, Mr. Smith spent his entire life in and near Connersville. For the past 17 years he had been employed as a guard by the Rex Manufacturing Company. He was a member of Orange Christian Church.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Leota Dawson Smith; five sons: Harold, Edward, Floyd, and Charles Smith, all of Connersville and Gene Smith of Richmond; a daughter, Mrs. Guy Bunyard of Falmouth; a half brother, Casper Jones of Rushville; a sister, Mrs. Ralph Bowen of near Orange; 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Moster Mortuary in Rushville. Dr. J. G. Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Dale Cemetary. Friends may call at the mortuary after noon Wednesday.
