Here is some information on Jonathan Hapgood father of Eliza Hapgood who married Philamon Crandall. Jonathan married Abigail Austin sister of Edith (Edy) Austin. Their daughter Eliza married Philamon, Edith Austin & John Crandall's oldest son. More intermarriage. Jonathan Hapgood, son of Ensign Ephraim and Rebecca Gibson was born 30 July 1767, Action, Mass; d. 1 Jan 1843. Jonathan moved to Milton, VT about 1788 and in the spring of 1798 went to Malone, Franklin, NY. He took out 300 acres of timber land and through many hardships & privations worked that summer and the next making, clearing and building a log house for his family, which he brought out the following year (1800) from Milton. He was the first settler of Malone on the border of Constable. He planted the first fruit orchard. It goes on to say the Hapgood family has a very complete Book on Genealogy going back to Mayflower. Their pioneer route led them through the same towns where we find the Austin's and Crandalls. This information comes from the "Austin Genealogy" by Edith Austin Moore. His children were:
